We were not created in a test tube, as you might think. We come from a long line of people who went to France and then came back to Guadeloupe.

The name “Guadeloupe” is actually derived from a word spelled “Guadeloupe,” which meant “place for the soft butter people.” The French word was used by the Vikings to describe a region of France.
